I normally wouldn't choose to compose like this, with the road running right in the middle of the picture, but the red house down the road beneath those puffy clouds just seemed to demand it.
Old Silos On A Country Lane
A country road in Jefferson County, Wisconsin
The Road Out of Nogal
View of Nogal, New Mexico, and the immense valley beyond, from Highway 37.
Rays and Streaks
Sunlight slicing through storm clouds over US 380 near Carrizozo, New Mexico.
Land of Enchantment
Old Route 66
New Mexico Highway 6, which was US Route 66 from 1926 to 1937, west of Los Lunas.
Road to Nowhere
I was so surprised that this tiny little dirt track, which appeared to vanish well before the horizon, was marked by a sign, as though it were a recognizable highway.
The Narrows Panoramic
The road south of The Narrows in El Malpais.
Another sign at the National Bison Range that seems totally unnecessary.
Two Way Traffic
This road sign is not quite as stupid as it may appear, as this road is one-way for part of the year. I still like the suggestion that such a lonely road is deserving of caution. The Mission Range in the background is about nine or ten miles distant.
At the National Bison Range
Montana state highway 212 east of Charlo and north of Ninepipe Reservoir.
Going To The Clouds
Rainbow Over the Road
Going To The Sun Road
Where the Mountains Meet the Prairies
