Bláa Kirkjan (Blue Church) is the most famous and photogenic building in Seyđisfjörđur. It was built in 1922 from wood recycled out of the previous church, which was blown to smithereens by a fierce Icelandic storm. I spent a long time trying to find the best angle to capture it - walking around it twice, using every lens in my bag. Finally, after drinking a couple beers at Hótel Aldan and starting to walk back to the camper van, I looked up and saw it. Undoubtedly, it helped that I saw this angle at 11 pm, with nearly perfect light and not a person in sight.
